About

CHRISTIAN CALCATELLI

IMPROVISER. Pianist. Composer.

I am a pianist and composer creating cinematic, minimalist and atmospheric solo piano music defined by hour-long improvisations, journeys of sound through dreamlike soundscapes. In summer 2026, I will release my new album "RISE", while continuing a series of long-form concerts that connect music with global causes I believe in. I am also a Guinness World Record holder after playing the piano for 60 hours (and 1 minute).

Beyond composing works for solo piano, orchestra, radio advertisement, corporate events and ballets, improvisation has always been at the heart of what I do. I love to take listeners along in a sonic world of contemplative melodies and harmonies, where time seems to slow down and we disconnect from the hectic world that surrounds us. My musical path has moved between structure and freedom, discipline and risk, culminating in large-scale endurance performances where focus, vulnerability and stamina become part of the art itself and the audience is invited in an unfiltered creative process that can last for hours. I believe in the power of music to unite and do good. That's why through improvised, extended concerts (often live over the web) I have raised awareness and funds for causes that are important to me, environmental and humanitarian.

What sets me apart is this fusion of depth and endurance: intimate, contemplative, agitated piano landscapes sustained over extraordinary spans of time. With "RISE" marking a new chapter in my recorded work, I continue to expand both the reach and the format of my performances. I invite you to explore my music and join my mailing list to stay connected and learn about upcoming projects. For concerts, collaborations or media inquiries, please get in touch.

Your performance was so beautiful! I was moved to tears” - Y.H.
